Helvi Itenge is a Namibian who moved to the United States in 2001 to complete her Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology at the Wilberforce University in Ohio. She also did a Master’s Degree in Education at the University of Illinois, specialising in E-learning. Helvi is married and a mother of two young children.
While living in the States, Helvi found it challenging to educate her children in her mother tongue Oshiwamvo, because she could not find any children’s books written in her own language.
Determined to teach her children Oshiwambo, she began to write her own babies’ and toddler’s books.
Helvi has since published her books in the Yambeka Children Media series and they are available on Amazon.com.(www.yambekachildren.com)
